What is the Skilled Worker Visa?
The UK Skilled Worker Visa (formerly Tier 2 General) is the main route for overseas nationals who want to come to the UK to work for a licensed sponsor. Introduced as part of the Points-Based System in 2021, it replaced the old Tier 2 (General) route.
To be granted a Skilled Worker Visa you must score at least 70 points. Points are awarded for holding a valid job offer from a licensed sponsor, meeting the skill level and salary requirements, and demonstrating English language ability.
